Preventing pellet and regrind loss in daily operations

A damaged bag, a leaking connection or material left beside a hopper can turn routine work into a spill. Learn how to keep plastic pellets, recycled pellets and regrind contained during handling, storage, processing and recycling, and how to respond when material escapes.

Who is this course for?

Operators of plastics processing and recycling lines, warehouse staff, loading and unloading teams, internal transport staff and maintenance teams.

What you will be able to do

  • Recognise loss points around unloading areas, silos, packaging, hoppers, dryers, granulators and recycling lines.
  • Use containment trays, drain covers, dust extraction and suitable industrial cleaning equipment.
  • Prevent spillage around gravimetric and volumetric feeding and dosing systems and pneumatic conveying installations.
  • Check packaging and material receipts, secure damaged bags and follow site procedures during material changes and cleaning.
  • Contain a spill, collect material safely and report the incident to the right person.

Seven practical modules

Introduction; why preventing material loss matters; where losses occur; equipment and safeguards; daily handling; spill response and reporting; final assessment. The focus is on clear actions at the workstation and practical implementation of Regulation (EU) 2025/2365.

Learning materials you can use at work

Videos, audio materials, step-by-step instructions, workplace checklists, short summaries and quizzes help turn learning into consistent working habits.

Certificate and assessment

Complete all modules to receive a certificate of completion. Pass the final test with at least 70% to receive a diploma; a score of at least 90% earns a diploma with distinction.
