Global knowledge about plastics, recycling, raw materials, and modern technologies

Category: Blown Film Extrusion - Complete Training Program (online courses)

9 specialised online courses for production teams

Practical training for operators, technicians, technologists, engineers, quality personnel and managers working in blown film production.

The programme helps teams understand the process, identify the causes of production problems and reduce material losses, downtime and process instability.

Courses can be purchased individually or completed as the full P1–P9 training programme.

Developed from industrial experience

The courses were developed by Dr Magdalena Laabs, a SIMP-certified technical expert in materials engineering and plastics processing machinery.

The programme draws on experience gained from more than 200 technological line projects and implementations in plastics processing and recycling. The content focuses on practical problems encountered in blown film production.

The P1–P9 training programme

P1: Introduction to Blown Film Extrusion

The fundamentals of the complete process and the relationships between its individual stages. Participants learn about the main production parameters and how they affect film quality.

P2: Raw Materials, Rheology and Additives

The selection of polymers and additives and their effect on processing, process stability and the properties of the finished film.

P3: Construction of Blown Film Extrusion Lines

How the extruder, die, cooling system, bubble stabilisation and winding system operate together. This knowledge helps teams identify the causes of problems rather than only treating their symptoms.

P4: Process Optimisation

Identifying common production problems, analysing their root causes and selecting the appropriate corrective action.

P5: Supporting Technologies

Gravimetric dosing, thickness measurement, IBC systems, melt filtration and other technologies used to improve process stability and control.

P6: Shrink and Stretch Hood Film Production

How raw materials, film structure and process parameters affect shrinkage, strength and load stability.

P7: Multilayer Film Technologies

Designing 3- and 5-layer structures, understanding the function of each layer and assessing how layer ratios affect film properties and process stability.

P8: Films Made from Recycled Materials

Processing regrind and recyclates with variable properties. Participants learn how to maintain film quality and production stability when using recycled materials.

P9: Economics and Cost Analysis

Material, energy, waste, downtime and line-efficiency costs. Participants learn how technological decisions influence the financial performance of production.

Who is the programme for?

The programme is suitable for:

  • machine operators and production technicians,
  • process technologists and engineers,
  • quality-control personnel,
  • production managers and plant directors,
  • new employees preparing to work on extrusion lines,
  • companies commissioning new lines or introducing new film products.

What is included?

Each course includes:

  • 4 weeks of online access, available 24/7,
  • practical, production-focused PDF materials,
  • video and audio explanations of key subjects,
  • examples of problems encountered on production lines,
  • a knowledge quiz,
  • a Rolbatch Academy certificate after completion.

Courses can be completed individually or by a company team. Individual parts of the programme can be activated progressively according to an agreed training path.

The principal course languages are English, German, Polish and Spanish. Other language versions can be prepared by arrangement.

How do you choose the right courses?

Tell us:

  • which films your company produces,
  • which raw materials you use,
  • which production lines your team operates,
  • which problems you want to solve,
  • which skills your employees need to develop.

We will use this information to recommend the most suitable parts of the P1–P9 programme.

Companion book

The programme is complemented by the book “Blown Film Extrusion: Process Optimization and Troubleshooting”, available in hardcover and softcover editions.

A free sample chapter is available at www.shop.rolbatch.eu.

Executive programme for management

For company owners, board members, plant directors and production managers, we also recommend the separate ROLBATCH Executive programme:
